The 5th Annual Susan Sherring Legacy Fundraiser Returns This Fall!
We’re honoured to welcome the community back for the 5th Annual Susan Sherring Legacy Fundraiser, celebrating the life and legacy of Sue Sherring, a passionate journalist and community champion who advocated for survivors of gender-based violence.
All proceeds will support Nelson House, helping us provide safe shelter, essential supports and vital services for women and children escaping violence.

We’re grateful to once again be supported through the RONA Home Sweet Home 2026 Campaign, which helps local organizations supporting people in need within their communities.

Glow Forward
Get ready to Glow Forward! On October 8, join us for an inspiring evening of fashion, community and giving back in support of Ottawa organizations providing critical services to survivors and families.
This collaborative fashion show fundraiser brings the community together in support of Nelson House, Cornerstone Housing for Women, Harmony House, Interval House of Ottawa and Chrysalis House.
The evening will feature local fashion, entertainment and opportunities to give back, with proceeds supporting the participating organizations and the important work they do in our community.

Royal LePage Shelter Foundation Night Light Walk
The Royal LePage Shelter Foundation Night Light Walk is back! Join us on October 22 at Lansdowne Park for an evening of community and solidarity in support of survivors of intimate partner violence.
Funds raised through the Ottawa walk will support Nelson House and other local shelters, helping provide safe shelter, essential services and support to survivors in our community.
Whether you walk, fundraise, donate or help spread the word, your participation makes a difference.
Join us and walk to help light the way toward safer futures for women and children.
Shoppers Foundation Giving Shelter Campaign
The Shoppers Foundation Giving Shelter Campaign is back! From September 12 to October 9, participating Shoppers Drug Mart locations are raising funds to support women’s shelters in their communities.

Her Movement: Dance for a Cause in Support of Nelson House
Join us on October 3 for Her Movement, a women-only dance event in support of Nelson House! Hosted at ELVT Studio, a women-only strength training space in Ottawa, Her Movement is an all-levels dance class focused on building confidence, connection and empowerment through movement. No previous dance experience is needed.
100% of ticket sales will be donated to Nelson House, helping us provide safe shelter, support and resources to survivors of gender-based violence and their children.
Participants will also have the chance to win items generously donated by women-owned businesses from across the Ottawa-Gatineau region.
Come move, connect and help make a difference for survivors in our community.
