    Family Violence and Abuse Information & Statistics

    Statistics Canada: When in this website, do a search for Family Violence, Violence against Women and the like to obtain recent statistics about familial abuse.

    National Clearing House on Family Violence: A site containing various publications and resources about child, spousal, and family violence in Canada.

    Centre for research on violence against women and children: A great resource to learn what is currently being done in research in regards to violence against women and children in Canada.

    Women's Health Bureau: A great resource to learn about women's health, health services, and things being done to improve and maintain these services.

    Ontario Women's Justice Network (OWJN): An online legal resource for women's organizations and individuals working on issues related to justice and violence against women and children

    Canaidan Institute of Child Health: A great website with resources about various issues regarding the health of Canada's children

    Success by 6 Ottawa: Success by 6 has helped partially fund our Respite Care program.



    Supporters & Valuable Resources

    Ottawa Chito-Kai Karate Club: This club holds an event called "Karate for Community" and for the past 3 years has contributed to Nelson House through this event!

    City of Ottawa: The city has granted us funding in numerous ways, thanks for the continuous support!

    Social Planning Council of Ottawa - Carleton: An organization which is building a stronger community by applying research and long-term planning to pressing social problems, such as familial and child abuse.

    Ottawa United Way: The United Way are great supporters of Nelson House, go to their website to gather information on their community efforts.

    Trillium Foundation: The Trillium Foundation granted us funding for a part time volunteer co-ordinator, thankyou!

    Ontario Ministry of Community and Social Services: A very important resource and supporter of Nelson House, they funded our Transition Worker position.

    Ontario Association of Social Workers: An organization which works with OAITH (Ontario Association of Interval and Transition Houses), plus learn about social work, and how it may apply to Nelson House.
